Desperation by Moisca Desperation by Moisca
You often desperately cling to something even as it begins to slip through your fingers.

Inspired by =agnes-cecile's art style again

Media: Watercolor, a bit of marker and gel pen
The idea stemmed from these lovely things I found a few months ago. They were a gift to two special people.
The man has hemochromatosis, so he made a joke that the red one HAD to be him.:XD:

[Edit]

Oh my gosh, my first DD! I cannot even believe it! I don't deserve such an amazing honor
Thank you so much to ^Astralseed for giving it, and ~smallsmiles for recommending~

Umm, maybe I might owe an explanation for this piece? It's up to anyone's interpretation, of course.

It's based around the true story of a woman who found the man she truly loved. But both of them found each other near the age of 60. She had been searching for years, and had already made a family of her own adopted daughters. And the man had been through two divorces.
She was worn down and exhausted.
He was breaking down.
In the past few months, he recently suffered a heart attack and two types of cancer, and surgery. He lived with hemochromatosis for most of his life as well as severe sleep apnea.

They sought comfort in each other, and stayed to hold each other up and support one another. But he was also a traveler. They were only together for short periods of time. She was so afraid of losing him, and was aware of the limited time they had to share.

She often spoke about how she was never closer and further from one person at the same time.

She said he was slipping from her fingers.

YES! I viewed your gallery and can see the development of style, personal expression, technique enhancement, improvement in layout and balance, and a stunning and wonderful movement of creativity!

I love this piece and it makes my mouth water as I see the drips flow away from the embrace...almost as if the upper hugging is squeezing away below. The drips from her right hand is especially telling - trying to hold onto something as it is slipping away.

If this is where you are going with your art, then you are most definitely aiming yourself in a direction that is fantastic and wonderful!

This piece is just amazing. You have a unique style to your art which I catch in the patterns and shading which is unlike any I've seen in a long time.

The streaks of red, black and gray really add a depressing touch, which makes you think of what these two have been through. The marks on his arm also add to the photo, which is another symbolism of pain and hardship; trying to overcome something. The way that these two are embracing each other shows how they feel about each other and how it seems as if they would do anything for each other.

This is a very imaginative art piece which I admire. It truly deserved to be put as the DD and I really don't see why it wasn't put sooner. Amazing job, anyone can see the effort that you put into it, and would have to be blind not to. :)

I have to say, your work is just as good as Agnes Cecile's. You are extremely talented. IMO, with your mastery over media, you should try to develop a style of your own as you have all the makings of being as awesome an artist as your idol.

This artwork is just outstanding. I love the mixed media and the colors here. The difference in colors adds to the longing and distance (figuratively) they have between each other. I absolutely love your gallery and can hardly stop faving. Keep up the fantastic hope. I hope to see you develop a personal style in future.
